Introducing BHN’s New HEART Values Statement

February 2, 2026

www.av¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Health Network is proud to share our new Statement of Values, a refreshed expression of the principles that shape our culture, guide our work, and strengthen our commitment to the communities we serve.

Over the past several years, BHN has grown and evolved in many ways. As our programs expand and our impact reaches more people across Massachusetts, it was important for our values to evolve with us. The new HEART Values reflect input from staff across the agency as well as insights from community partners, gathered over a two‑year process of reflection and collaboration.

These values represent who we are today—and who we strive to be as we continue supporting individuals and families on their journeys toward health and well‑being.

Get to Know BHN’s HEART Values

  • HUMANITY: We honor the intrinsic worth and dignity of every person and incorporate equity in our engagement.
  • EMPOWERMENT: We recognize each individual’s human right to make progress towards their life goals. We are proactive in removing barriers and working “with” and not “for.”
  • ACCOUNTABILITY: We take responsibility for our work and uphold BHN’s values through our behavior.
  • RESPECT: We create a stigma free environment where every voice is included, recognized, and valued.
  • TEAMWORK: We are stronger together—a diverse community growing and supporting one another to do our best.

Celebrating the HEART of BHN

As we introduce our HEART Values, we’re excited to highlight the compassion, collaboration, and commitment that make BHN who we are. Throughout February, staff will take part in themed activities and celebrations that showcase each HEART value. Programs are welcome to join in, decorate, and participate in whatever ways feel fun and meaningful.

We’re also launching the HEART Employee Recognition Program, a new way to honor the kindness, leadership, and teamwork that strengthen our community every day. Stay tuned as we spotlight our first HEART Award recipients soon!
